Strategic Goals of MADÁSZSZ


In the summer of 2007, the MADÁSZSZ decided to develop the strategy of MADÁSZSZ for the better synchronization of programs, for the ensurement of the efficiency and improvement of the cooperation among the member NGOs and the Association.
The evaluation of the position of the Association pointed out that the linkage, the synchronization of the researches, the trainings, the activities of professional representation and of other can result such additional quality which helps, as a good example, the work of the member, even other NGOs.
The main goal of the strategic planning was the foundation of the further development of MADÁSZSZ. Beside this, we set the following as subgoals:

  • clarification of the basis of the organizational identity (mission, vision of future, basic values),
  • determination of the main strategic orientations;
  • determination of the necessary organizational and management-background for the accomplishment of the strategy.
Above becoming acquainted with the theoretical backgrounds of strategical management, the expected achivements of the strategical planning are that the members accept the importance of strategical management, and from now on they are going to utilize the results of strategical planning in their annual plans and projects. The representatives of the members started the common planning in the autumn of 2007 with the help of the CSD Foundation.

The organizational picture of MADÁSZSZ prior to planning indicates a position between the dream-section and growing. The professional concept is clear, tasks are accomplished along a few principle. The organization measures the possible resources, understands the fundraising toolkit in a wider view (goes further tenders), but in real, only a few steps were made towards the involvement of different types of resources. The MADÁSZSZ has an annual budget and applies for more and more tenders.



Mission


The mission of the MADÁSZSZ are to increase the collective effectiveness of the activities in the fields of prevention and harm reduction and to open up possibilities for the member NGOs to an effective way of operation. All these are done because of the responsibility we feel for the clients througout the representation of interests offered for the member NGOs. It contains quality services of professional and structural operation.



Basic values


Authenticity
The organization owns mission(goal)-oriented, client-focused, constructive programs that gives the most appropriate personel and infrastructural help and background.

Cooperation
For MADÁSZSZ, cooperation means that mutual action arranged alongside the individuals goals of the autonomous NGOs can lead to the mobilization of such resources and to the realization of such products which the NGOs could not carry out alone, or at least only bí facing difficuties. Members will cooperate on the principle of reciprocity, meaning that the sum of inputs will represent the involved work and energy of the members in the quality and quantitiy of the outputs

Professionalism
The operation of the Association is based on objective drug preventive and harm reducing "Code of Ethics", that helps offering quality services by its guideline.

Respect
For MADÁSZSZ, it is a value based on mutual trust, being promoted both in- and outwards, whose scope is designated by the adherence of the mutually developed rules and by the professional and organizational openness.

Although these values are organizational basic values, we have a trust in their spread in our narrow and board environment by practicing them.



Strategical priorities of MADÁSZSZ for the period of 2008-2011


In the following years, MADÁSZSZ continues its work in the hope that the Association can contribute to the enhancement of the appretiation of the Hungarian civil sphere and of the prestige of drug-related professions with its activities and with having it acquianted. MADÁSZSZ aims to make a big change in the image of drug addicts on the level of society and that the orgnization in connection could cooperate, stand for and represent interest efficiently and proactively.

MADÁSZSZ aspires to establish a civil organization in which

  • the member NGOs can accomplish their voluntary activities more effectively and serve their target groups more productively
  • the NGOs are aware of the fact that their every day activities and common attitude serve the aims also
  • there are opportunities to professional development and improvement
  • there are opportunities and a condition-system of cooperations, which make the connection attractive
The acknowledgement of the work of the MADÁSZSZ would be important by the member NGOs, the partners, the supporters and the mandators alike.

The following 5 strategical directions were outlined:
  • MADÁSZSZ should have organizational, operational and professional services.
  • MADÁSZSZ should establish a profession-specific Civil Strategy.
  • MADÁSZSZ should deal with the image of drug addicts on the level of society.
  • MADÁSZSZ should carry out the representation of interest, that means standpoints should be made.
  • MADÁSZSZ should establish professional and organizational mechanisms.
The Association highlights the following strategical priorities:
  • Strengthening (establishment of professional and organizational mechanisms for the on the account of MADÁSZSZ)
  • Inner services (organizational, operational and professional services for members only)
  • Outward activities (attitude-shaping)
  • Social attitude-shaping in connection with the existing 'image of drug-addicts'
  • Establishment of a profession-specific Civil Strategy
  • Representation of interest, Standpoints
